About Us
Seth “Chorazin” Dodson is one of the founding fathers of the Elite Arcadian Review Force (EARF) a long running video game based podcast. Not happy with the restrictions of it being focused on that, he gathered a few stalwart individuals and asked them if they would like to branch out and talk about all the things we love, and here we are at Geeksofunusualsize.com. Seth loves gaming, comic books, movies, tech (specifically shiny new Apple products….) and terrible sci-fi shows. He will be mainly writing about games, comics, and tech, but will likely show up now and again with something else on his mind. He is also the site admin.
Ben “TheFid2″ Fidler is a soon-to-be graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors in Vocal Music Education… which has pretty much nothing to do with this website or his main hobbies of video-gaming and TV-watching. He was a co-founder of the 360Arcadians Live, a gaming-focused podcast at 360Arcadians.net which ran for nearly two and a half years before ending its run to become a part of GoUS. Fid is especially interested in modern television as a medium and closely follows the industry’s dealings and Nielsen ratings in addition to keeping up with most of the popular/quality programs currently airing on each network. He will be focusing his efforts primarily on providing content, including reviews and opinions, for the TV section here at GoUS.
Bradley “DVG” Temple is a Quality Assurance Analyst for a major insurance company in addition to running a small-scale web development shop, and is currently engaged with development for Geeks of Unusual Size. A self-described “renaissance geek”, Bradley’s nerd-related hobbies include a little bit of everything, including Console and Tabletop Gaming, Comics, Books, TV and Movies. In addition to developing new features for the site, Bradley will be spending time writing articles for the Tabletop section and occasionally dipping into other parts of the site.
Ryan “Digitalistic” Schaefer is a current college student specializing in procrastination and programming, with a focus on amateur game design. He was a member of the Elite Arcadian Review Force prior to becoming assimilated by the GoUS collective. Having a part-time job at Blockbuster and a lifetime career of gaming, he often combines the two to play crappy games so you don’t have to. He is often over-enthusiastic about the gaming flavor of the week or about year-old live arcade games where you jump around and collect gold. He is also a TV maniac, watching a vast number of shows, and strengthening the TV pillar of GoUS. He will also become famous someday — just you wait and see!
Ray “Charpunk” Elbert is currently employed selling games on the retail level. He has been a gaming enthusiast since the days of the 2600, and an aficionado of motion pictures every since he could remember. Ray can be found spending most of his free time watching television programing. Being a fan of multitude of genres, he watches as many shows as he possibly can while also keeping up to date with the latest television news and information. Ray also plays games on the go, spending most of that time checking out the latest and greatest iPhone games. He will mostly be providing content for the TV section, however his contributions can also be found across the rest of site including an iPhone game of the week column.
Steve “Raijin Quickfoot” Garlo is your average stay-at-home Dad by day/Superhero by night. He dons tights and fights crime under the name Garlosaurus Rex. The tights are bright green. He’s been writing game reviews on and off for 5 years. His previous experience includes Etoychest and Snackbar games. He was born in 1981 and grew up on the Atari and NES. He’s owned just about every major system that has come out since 1980 except for the Neo-Geo and original Xbox. Currently He is a 360 and PS3 owner. His favorite genre of games are usually RPG, Action/Adventure, sports, and racing, though he plays almost anything. The one genre you will never see him play is RTS. He’s awful at them and always will be. Outside of gaming he’s a massive movie buff though he hardly ever gets to the theater anymore (see part about being a Dad above). He listen to a ridiculous amount of music, and he watches a little TV though he hardly ever watches it live anymore.
Mike “jdarksun” Berard has been gaming since his father brought home an Apple ][e in 1985. He broke his gaming teeth on Sierra adventures games like the King’s Quest series and The Black Cauldron. His first console was an Atari 7800, which he received for his sixth birthday. His first tabletop RPG was the first edition of The Star Wars Role Playing Game. Though Mike’s gaming tastes have changed over time, his breadth of exposure has not. The only modern system he does not own is the PSP, and he still spends plenty of time enjoying games on the PC. He is currently the DM for a D&D 4E campaign, playing two more online, and is preparing to launch a software platform to assist DMs in running play-by-post games on internet message boards. Previous gaming-based publications include the Hooked Gamers website, Elite Arcadian Review Force (EARF) podcast, and now the Geeks of Unusual Size (GOUS) website. Mike is a Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience, is married, has two dogs, and intends to continue gaming until zombies rise up and devour the world. He’s pretty sure he’ll be prepared when it happens.
Cassadi “Noajayne” Thomas is one of the rare, seldom seen beings known as the female gamer. She likes long walks along the beaches of Stranglethorn Vale. She spends the majority of her time as a corporate drone for a large financial organization and holds a degree in programming. When she does get some time away from the office this illusive creature can usually be found with a controller, DS, mouse, book, dice, or comic in her hands. She has a sick obsession with the color pink, especially when it comes to gadgets. She hopes to bring a feminine touch to GoUS (not too feminine of course) with her posts on female geekery. Also look forward to regular posts about anime and, who knows, maybe more in the future.
